HOW TO GET HERE

Most of our guests fly to Nassau, Bahamas, on one of the major airlines, such as American, British Air or Jet Blue, and then take Bahamas Air or Southern Air to Deadman’s Cay or to Stella Maris, Long Island. We will arrange a rental or a taxi to be waiting for you.
TRAVEL TO NASSAU (NAS):
The Linden Pindling International Airport in Nassau is the major hub for all the islands of the Bahamas.
Several carriers fly direct to Nassau from many major cities in the US, Canada and Europe; however, you might have a stopover and possibly a plane change in Florida -- usually Miami or Ft. Lauderdale.
In addition to these major carriers, Bahamas Air has flights to Nassau from Ft. Lauderdale, Miami and Orlando, Florida.
The last scheduled flight of the day out of Nassau is usually around 2:30pm. Stella Maris Resort has a charter service from Nassau that might have space available on a later flight. Otherwise, travelers might require overnighting in Nassau or Florida. If overnighting in Nassau, feel free to contact us for lodging information.
TRAVEL TO LONG ISLAND from NASSAU:
Bahamas Air and Southern Air all have regular daily schedules to Long Island. The flight is about 45 minutes.
Long Island has two airports: Deadman's Cay (LGI) in the south and Stella Maris (SML) in the north. We recommend flying into the Deadman's Cay Airport, but either would be acceptable. Grotto Bay lies approximately between the two airports.
From Deadman’s Cay, the drive to Grotto Bay is about 20 minutes, and it’s about 30 minutes from Stella Maris. Rental cars are available at both airports. Taxi service is excellent from Stella Maris, but difficult from Deadman’s.
TRAVEL TO LONG ISLAND FROM GEORGETOWN, EXUMA
It is also possible to fly into Georgetown, Exuma, from Florida destinations, and then take Island Wings, (a small charter) to Stella Maris.
